The "SpaceSaver Custom Chair" not only allows users to store it in a space-efficient manner according to their desired layout with stacking and nesting capabilities, but it also takes up minimal space. Moreover, it offers customization options for armrests, tablet, casters, glides, as well as upholstered backrest and seat, enabling comfortable use in various settings.

Stacking
The armrests of the added chair stack above the existing armrests.
The seating area is stacked upwards while in the unfolded position.
The rear legs overlap with the front legs of the chair below.
Nesting
The armrests of the added chair fit below the existing armrests.
The seating area folds inward and then overlaps forward.
The front legs of the existing chair slide into the back legs of the added chair.
Ideation Sketch
Taking into account the conditions necessary for achieving both Stacking and Nesting, a range of leg structures have been sketched. Furthermore, various designs have been created for interchangeable components such as tablet attachments, armrests, and backrests.
Drawing inspiration from the configuration of the Chinese character "人" (meaning "person"), the process of sketching the leg structure was initiated.

These are the key and detailed factors that were considered when designing the chair.
Rotational Axis
Nesting capability enables the rotation of the seating area. Rotation mechanisms are attached on either side of the central rotational axis. By incorporating a rib, the seating area's sturdiness is enhanced. Moreover, to prevent the seating area from sagging when a user sits down, a protrusion is placed forward at the midpoint of the rotational axis for added support.
Tablet
The armrests can be removed from the legs, enabling the use of a tablet as a replacement.
Armrests
The curved portion of the armrest is oriented forward to prevent objects such as clothing from getting caught. Additionally, the arm-supporting section is crafted from a soft plastic material instead of the metallic material of the legs, ensuring a smooth and warm feel, free from the cold touch of metal.
Backrest
The backrest can be easily and conveniently assembled by screwing it into both legs, allowing the choice between a plastic backrest and a cushioned backrest.
